MOVIES:

November 2005

1. The Exorcism of Emily Rose

-Despite the courtroom antics this one is fairy chillnig! So rent it or go see it!

2. The UFO Conspiracy

This is a fantastic documentary that shows LOTS of  REAL UFO crafts in flight and discusses jsut what they are and where they come from. It concludes with Christian thinkers explaining the similarities between "Aliens" and demons! Quite cool!!

July 2005

1.Check out the new JAWS DVD set from Universal home video as this is a cool set!

2.STAR WARS EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH

Ok, ok I am a bit late with this one but if you have not seen this one yet see it NOW! I read the book then watched the movie so I say IT ROCKS!!!

3.Teenage Strangler (1964)-Rick Harris, Stacy Smith, Bill Bloom. Here's a low-budget yet COOL JD film shot in nearby Huntington, WV! A psycho strangler is loose on a high school campus and is killing off cute teen girls. But who is doing it?? This one is totally groovy with drag races, twistin' and dancin' at the local burger joint, rumbles, leather jackets, and lots of rock-a-billy music! A TOTAL RECOMMENDED GEM!

4.From Hell It Came (1957)-Tod Andrews, Tina Carver. Wow! What a FUN piece of SCHLOCK this is!!! A tribal price is condemned to death by the witch doctor and vows to return as a tree monster. It isn't long before a totally BIZARE (And humorous!) tree monster is up walking around killing off the tribeal members! A MUST SEE all the way!

May 2005

Journey to the 7th Planet (1962)-SUPER FUN film has a U.N. expedition landing on Uranus and encountering a bizarre alien who gets inside their brains! They actually walk out into a world right from their own minds and even meet so sexy babes again, right from their fantasies!! This is pretty good and a must see!! In color too!!

cover

The Avenger (1961)-Klaus Kinski, Ingrid Van Bergen. This is cool horror/mystery film that has a hideous ape-man decapitating people and mailing their heads to Scotland Yard! Features some sexy European women as well!!  A great Edgar Wallace flick that's a msut see! Good quality. Recommended.

cover

RIders of the Whistling Skull (1937)-Stars the Three Mesquiteers: Rocoverbert Livingston, Ray Corrigan and Max Terhune. A neat horror/western combo flick! The Mesquiteers join a young woman and her expedition in search of her missing father and a lost Indian city. Seems an evil whistling skull keeps sounding off and bad things happen. In the end, they must fight the Indians in their skull shaped caavern!! GREAT stuff here folks!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The Amityville Horror 2005 Remake

Ok, DO NOT WATCH THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE! It SUCKS!!! Hollywood just shows they are totally unworthy of making movies nowadays. This film is a slap in the face of the Lutz family and the author of the original book.

The Screaming Skull (1958)

cover

I LOVED this film as a kid and just recently watched it once again and I still enjoy it. Ok, its a cheapie but its a lot of fun!

The Entity (1981)

cover

A chilling demonic haunting film that was supposedly based on a true story. Babara Hershey is tormented and sexually molested by an unseen entity. Quite creepy!!

Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977)

Yes I am late watcihng this one but my newfound love of ufology brought this out. This story is actually based on true accounts (Of course the Gov't won't admit it!). If you like UFOs then this is must-see TV!

H.H. Holmes: America's First Serial Killer

Source:  Region 1 DVD

A Documentary Film by John Borowski

2004

Produced, Written, and Directed by John Borowski

Narrated by Tony Jay

Music by Douglas Romayne Stevens

Running Time: 64 minutes

This is one fun documentary film! The film chronicles the history of a medical student/doctor turned psychotic serial killer in the Chicago area in the 1870's-1880's. Holmes used many cleaver schemes to con investors out of large sums of mnoey, built a castle-type home full of dungeons and torture chambers and later resold his victims' skeletons to medical schools for profit! Jack the ripper inspired this guy too! When the news reached America about Jack the Ripper, Holmes set out to beat him and that he did.

I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoy true to life crims and/or serial killers. Look around on the internet, ebay or go to:

Dawn of the Dead 2004 Remake

This one starts out cool...A woman runs from her zombie husband and meets up with some other survivors. Of course she nor anyone has a clue as to what is going on. They head to the mall and barracade themselve in. But things soon take a turn for the worse! This is the UNCUT version deemed too scary for theatres. Now, I don't know exactly what is missing from the CUT version (As I have not watched it) but eventhough I enjyoed this film, I certainly didn't see anything worth cutting out unless you count the birth of a zombie baby (Which is a cool addition!!). This baby does in fact have a LOT of action and some decent gore so yeah, I'd recommend seeing it!! Just make certain to get the unrated version. Oh, yes, I do like this but I DO NOT THINK THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN TITLED DAWN OF THE DEAD but something else. It IS a good zombie film but die-hard fans of the original may be disappointed a bit. Old-school dudes from the original include Tom Savini, Ken Foree and Scott Reinger who all make cameos in this as well. Savini plays a Sheriff who does his best to imitate the dude from Night of the Living Dead! There's elements in here from NOTLD as well as the original DAWN, Fulci's ZOMBIE, NIGHTMARE CITY (City of the Walking Dead) as the zombies RUN and are fast instead of the old slow ones and of course DAY OF THE DEAD with a hint of 28 DAYS LATER. Again, its good but hell, I think someone needs to come up with an ORIGINAL zombie film!!

A Haunting in Connecticut

MAN OH MAN!! This is SCARY as hell!! Back in August of 2003 while attending Horrorfind in Baltimore, MD I had the pleasure of meeting George Lutz (Of AMITTYVILLE HORROR fame..He was the actual guy who lvied in that house!) along with Lou Gentile and John Zaffis who is one of seven sanctioned demonologists in the world. Ok, John Zaffis spoke of this film (As he is interviewed) airing on TLC and The Discovery Channel. I have missed it time and time again. But luckily, I caught just recently and let me tell you, it ROCKS!!

The story concerns the Parker family who moves into a house in Connecticut from New York so to be closer to the hospital where their son is receiving his cancer treatments. Turns out that the house used to be a funeral home! Immediately, bad things start happening as the spirits that dwell there are not human but rather evil DEMONIC forces! I don't want to give anything away but it is in fact scary!! I'd recommend going to ebay and typing in the title as people are selling the DVD of this there or try some of the chat rooms as peopel are looking for this and are trading copies of it. GET IT NOW!!!

I Drink Your Blood

I was fortunate to have met the director David E. Durston this past October 2004 at the Cinema Wasteland horror movie convention. Let me just say that this shocking flick from 1970 rules!

A band of hippie devil worshippers blow into town and start terrorizing the locals. They rape a girl and slip her grandfather some acid. Her brother gets his revenge but injecting their food with rabies!! Next thing you know, peopel are running all over town foaming at the mouth, killing and butchering each other. What a good time!!! Check out the DVD version as the video version is also cool but its a bit dark.
